Welcome to the Tiger Den!

The Tiger Den is an exciting and adventurous program for first-grade children (typically 6-7 years old). This program builds on the foundation set in the Lion Den and introduces new challenges and activities that help young Scouts grow and develop essential skills.

What is the Tiger Program?

The Tiger program is designed to provide first graders with a variety of fun and engaging activities that promote learning, teamwork, and outdoor exploration. Through a series of adventures, Tiger Scouts will gain confidence, learn new skills, and make lasting memories.

Why Join the Tiger Den?

Joining the Tiger Den offers numerous benefits for young Scouts and their families:

  • Fun and Educational Activities: Our program is designed to be both enjoyable and educational, ensuring that children are always excited to participate.
  • Skill Development: The Tiger program helps children develop essential life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.

  • Community Engagement: Through service projects and community activities, Tiger Scouts learn the importance of helping others and being active members of their community.

Required Adventures

To earn the Tiger badge, our Tiger Scouts will complete six required adventures and 2 elective adventures. Here are the required adventures:

  1. Tiger Bobcat
  2. Tigers in the Wild
  3. Tiger Bites
  4. Team Tiger
  5. Tiger's Roar
  6. Tiger Circles

Elective Adventures

In addition to the required adventures, Tigers ust also complete 2 Elective Adventures. Tigers are encouraged to complete as many Elective Adventures as they desire.

Special Elective Adventures

These adventures can only be completed at approved events with qualified instructors:

  • Archery Tiger
  • Slingshot
  • BB Guns

Uniform

The Tiger Cub Scout uniform has the following parts;

  1. Shirt: The official blue uniform shirt is available with long or short sleeves and has button-flap pockets.
  2. Pants: Shorts, long pants, skorts, and roll up pants all are in official blue.
  3. Belt: Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle.
  4. Socks: Official socks are available in three lengths: ankle, crew, and knee. Tiger socks have an orange band on the top.
  5. Hat: Official blue hat with orange front and Tiger emblem.
  6. Neckerchief: Orange triangular neckerchief with Tiger logo. Official BSA neckerchiefs are the only neckerchiefs that are part of the uniform.
  7. Neckerchief slide: Official gold-tone metal slide with orange Tiger emblem. Cub Scouts may wear handmade neckerchief slides.
