Lion Den

Welcome to the Lion Den!

The Lion Den is the starting point for our youngest Cub Scouts, typically kindergarten-aged children (5-6 years old). This program is designed to introduce our young adventurers to the exciting world of Scouting through fun, hands-on activities that promote learning, teamwork, and outdoor exploration.

What is the Lion Program?

The Lion program is a unique and engaging experience tailored for our youngest Scouts. It focuses on age-appropriate activities that help children develop essential skills while having a great time. The program includes a series of adventures that cover various topics, from physical fitness and nutrition to community service and outdoor safety.

Why Join the Lion Den?

Joining the Lion Den is a fantastic way for young children to start their Scouting journey. Here are some benefits:

• Fun and Engaging Activities: Our activities are designed to be enjoyable and educational, ensuring that children are always excited to participate.
• Skill Development: The Lion program helps children develop essential life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.

Required Adventures

To earn the Lion rank, our Lion Scouts will complete six required adventures and 2 elective adventures. Here are the required adventures:

1. Bobcat Adventure
2. Mountain Lion
3. Fun on the Run
4. King of the Jungle
5. Lion's Roar
6. Lion's Pride

Elective Adventures

In addition to the required adventures, Lions must also complete 2 Elective Adventures. Lions are encouraged to complete as many Elective Adventures as they desire.

Special Elective Adventures

These adventures can only be completed at approved events with qualified instructors:

• Archery Lion
• Slingshot

Uniform

The Lion Cub Scout uniform has the following parts:

1. Shirt: The official Lion t-shirt.
2. Belt: Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle.
3. Cap: Official navy-blue Lion cap.
4. Neckerchief: Optional Lion neckerchief. The Lion den decides if they will wear the neckerchief.
5. Neckerchief Slide: Optional Lion neckerchief slide.

Official uniform pants, shorts, or skorts, and Cub Scout socks are optional. Use of these items for Lions is decided by the den leader and families in the den. There is no uniform inspection sheet for Lions.
